Throughout the year, we host community events, volunteer opportunities, celebrations, and special initiatives that give individuals, families, businesses, and organizations meaningful ways to connect, give back, and make an impact across Oneida and Herkimer Counties.

October 17, 2026
Join United Way of the Mohawk Valley and Utica Royalties for a family-friendly Halloween celebration bringing our community together for an evening of fun.
The event will feature Halloween activities, community engagement, and opportunities for local organizations and businesses to be part of the celebration.

Get Connected. Get Help.
Every February, we recognize 2-1-1 Day and raise awareness about this vital community resource.
2-1-1 connects individuals and families with information and referrals for essential services, including housing, food, utilities, transportation, mental health resources, disaster assistance, and more.

Day of Action brings volunteers from throughout the Mohawk Valley together to turn community spirit into action.
Individuals, businesses, employee teams, and community partners roll up their sleeves to complete hands-on volunteer projects supporting local nonprofits and community needs throughout Oneida and Herkimer Counties.

Your Voice. Your Community. Our Future.
What resources exist in our communities? Where are the gaps? What barriers are residents facing? And how can we work together to create solutions?
United Way of the Mohawk Valley's Gap Map Series brings organizations and community members together to identify resources, unmet needs, barriers to services, duplication, and opportunities for greater collaboration across Oneida and Herkimer Counties.
Community Member Sessions
We don't just want to talk about the community. We want to hear from the community.
Community members are invited to share their experiences, concerns, ideas, and perspectives about the challenges facing their communities.

Organization Series
Organizations throughout Oneida and Herkimer Counties are participating in a multi-session process to identify resources, gaps, barriers, and opportunities for collaboration.
