Day of Action

United Way's Annual Volunteer Day

Year-round volunteers are showing up to make a difference, but our Annual Day of Action amplifies the power of volunteering!

Each year, United Way of the Mohawk Valley collaborates with local organizations, municipalities, companies, and more to harness our network of volunteers to make a difference on this one singular day.

Born Learning Trails

In the past few years, we have installed 13 'Born Learning Trails' in local parks throughout the Mohawk Valley.

Born Learning Trails are interactive signs that offer fun, active learning activities for young children and their families. It helps parents, caregivers, and communities create quality engagement opportunities during a stroll or visit a local playground. The trails are the perfect way to help further our mission and focus on early childhood education!

2024 Day of Action

Since 2020, our Day of Action has been focused around smaller COVID friendly projects. We are excited to reinvigerate our Day of Action to its former grandness in 2024!

This year we are focusing our attention on Rome, NY in the aftermath of the tornado that touched down on July 16th. Between July and December, we will be working with sponsors and volunteers to coordinate projects throughout the rest of the year to help with recovery efforts.

Past Projects

In previous years, we have packed thousands of meals to fill local food pantries, created painted activities on sidewalks to provide movement and exercise for our youth, and covered graffiti by working with local artists to create art through murals.
