United Way's Day of Action
The United Way of the Mohawk Valley's Community Engagement Committee leads a variety of volunteer initiatives each year, from community clean-ups to partnering with FX Matt Brewery for its Summer Concert Series, assisting with Thanksgiving meal deliveries, and this August, building beds with our newest partner, Sleep in Heavenly Peace, so no child sleeps on the floor!
United Way of the Mohawk Valley collaborates with local organizations, municipalities, companies, and more to harness our network of volunteers and make a meaningful impact during our annual Day of Action. Each year, the projects may change, reflecting the evolving needs of our community.
Past Projects
In previous years, we have packed thousands of meals to fill local food pantries, created painted activities on sidewalks to provide movement and exercise for our youth, and covered graffiti by working with local artists to create art through murals.
Born Learning Trails
In the past few years, we have installed 13 'Born Learning Trails' in local parks throughout the Mohawk Valley.
Born Learning Trails are interactive signs that offer fun, active learning activities for young children and their families. It helps parents, caregivers, and communities create quality engagement opportunities during a stroll or visit a local playground. The trails are the perfect way to help further our mission and focus on early childhood education!
Sponsors Needed
As always, to reflect the cost of these activities, we are in need of sponsors. Your company/organization's staff will receive countless benefits, make irreplaceable memories, and build long-lasting relationships experiencing our Day of Action!
