Jack Pflanz
Hi, my name is Jack (the guy in the middle). I am running in the 2025 Utica Boilermaker 15K Road Race. Between the 5k and the 15k, this will be about my 40th Boilermaker since 1983. I have run it fast, and I have run it slow. I’ve experienced boiling heat and cold pouring rain. What makes this time different is that I am running it to raise $500 to benefit the United Way of the Mohawk Valley. I grew up in an economically challenged environment. My family and I often relied on non-profit organizations and social service agencies to survive. This is my chance to pay it forward and help create a thriving community by connecting people, resources, and solutions throughout our community. A donation of any amount would be greatly appreciated.
Dale Seaton
Hello, my name is Dale Seaton, I’m 61 years old, and there are a few things I’m passionate about…giving back to my community as an active member of the United Way of the Mohawk Valley Board and Community Engagement Committee, Treasurer to the Adirondack Masters Swimming Board, and endurance sports! My very first endurance race was the Boilermaker 15k on July 11th, 2010. I said to myself during that race that I’d never do it again. This year I will be running in my 16th! However, this year I won’t just be running for myself as I will put on my first charity bib with a $500 goal to benefit the UWMV. I would be honored if you could find it in yourself to donate to my cause. Thank you in advance!
Yuliya Karpov
My name is Yuliya Karpov and this year marks my fourth Boilermaker! Each one has meant something special but running with a United Way bib adds even more purpose to the miles. I took up running at the height of the pandemic as a way to stay healthy and grounded during uncertain times. It quickly became something I truly love! Just as running has strengthened me, I believe in strengthening my community. I'm proud to be running in support of the United Way of the Mohawk Valley, an organization that uplifts so many lives in our region. Every step I take in this race is a step toward positive change, and I’m honored to run on behalf of a cause that truly makes a difference. Thank you for cheering me on and for making a donation in support of the incredible work that the United Way does right here at home!
