Day of Action: Park & Trail Cleanup

This year’s Day of Action on June 17th is all about rolling up our sleeves for the places we call home. We’ve teamed up with the City of Utica and Keep Mohawk Valley Beautiful to identify the sites that need our attention most, from city parks to neighborhood intersections, to ensure our public spaces are clean, safe, and welcoming for every family.

There are two ways you can help us make a visible difference:

Join the Cleanup Team

We’re hosting multiple cleanups throughout Utica and a community project in Herkimer County. Whether we’re clearing litter or maintaining our Born Learning Trails, your hands-on support directly impacts the beauty and safety of our region.

  • Utica Sites: O'Connor Park, Quinn Park, North Utica Park, and key intersections including Schuyler & Oriskany and Leland & Wurz.
  • Herkimer County: Ilion Community Garden.
  • Volunteer Lunch: To show our appreciation, join us for a thank-you lunch at Pietryka Park from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM, featuring delicious food from our sponsor, Lafa!

Grab a Shirt for a Cause

If you can’t make it out to the parks, you can still support the mission! We’re launching a $20 Day of Action T-shirt fundraiser. Every shirt purchased goes directly toward our Community Responsiveness focus area. This allows us to respond quickly and effectively to the most urgent needs in the Mohawk Valley as they arise.

Ready to help?

Whether you’re wearing the shirt, doing the work, or both, you are creating a ripple effect of pride and care in our community.
