United Way MV Announces 2023 Step-Up Incentive Prize Winner

UTICA, N.Y. – United Way of the Mohawk Valley’s (United Way MV) Step-Up Incentive Drawing ran in conjunction with its annual fundraising campaign. This incentive gives donors who increase their previous year’s donation a chance to win a $2,500 gift card, sponsored by Staffworks. To enter, local individuals “stepped-up” their annual giving by or made a gift of at least $100 for the first time.

Friday, United Way MV announced and congratulated this year’s winner, Jake Snyder. Jake, who works for Gilroy, Kernan, and Gilroy was randomly selected from more than 202 individuals who entered United Way MV’s Step-Up Incentive Drawing this year.

“For me, supporting United Way MV means that my donation makes an impact locally, and there are a variety of different impact areas that may touch. United Way works with local partners, and programs daily, so I know anything I give goes back into our community,” said Jake Snyder, this year’s Step-Up Incentive Winner. “I’m not sure what I’ll do yet with the gift card, but I know it’ll be fun, and something that will allow me to pay it forward!”

This year’s Step-Up Incentive helped bring in an additional $29,588.72 in donations from individuals who entered to win by increasing their donation. The Step-Up Incentive is just one part of United Way MV’s annual fundraising campaign, which funds dozens of local non-profit programs and initiatives to help more than 95,000 local community members.

“The Step-Up Incentive offers another way for our community and donors to work together for the greater good. We are grateful for people like Jake who challenge themselves and each other to carry on the mission of caring for our neighbors, families, and friends,” said Matthew Caracas, United Way of the Mohawk Valley’s CEO. “We’re grateful to Staffworks for this partnership, their compassion to give back, and their commitment to see lives improved locally.”

United Way of the Mohawk Valley mobilizes our community to close gaps and open opportunities so all can thrive with a focus on more than just one singular issue facing people locally.
