Empowering Local Programs to Expand Their Impact

United Way of the Mohawk Valley (UWMV) is excited to launch its first-ever Mini-Grant Series, created to support local organizations making a hands-on difference in our community through direct services.

This new opportunity offers grants of up to $2,500 to meet the immediate needs of individuals and families across the Mohawk Valley between December 2025 and June 2026.

Funds from this series must be used exclusively for direct services, meaning tangible goods or activities provided directly to those served. Administrative, overhead, and general operating costs are not eligible for funding. The goal of this Mini-Grant Series is to empower community organizations to deliver responsive, immediate impact and strengthen local support networks that help our neighbors thrive.

The Mini-Grant Series will open December 1, 2025, at 8:30 a.m. and close December 31, 2025, at 11:59 p.m.

Focus Areas:

  • Health & Wellness: Programs that improve physical and mental health, food security, and access to care.
  • Economic Stability: Initiatives that promote workforce development, financial literacy, housing support, or other strategies that help families thrive.
  • Community Responsiveness: Projects that strengthen local support networks, emergency preparedness, or programs addressing urgent community needs.

Who Can Apply:

Non-profits, faith-based organizations, and government agencies serving the Oneida and Herkimer counties are encouraged to apply. 

Please note:

  • Current United Way of the Mohawk Valley Funded Partners are not eligible to apply.
  • Only one application per agency or organization will be accepted.
