United Way .5k

 
First Ever ‘United Way .5k’ Fun Run Event Raises $4,600.
 
October 13, 2018 -Utica, NY- United Way of the Valley & Greater Utica Area hosted its first ever .5k (half-kilometer) running event. The official tagline is “Not your average run. Not your average cause.”
 
The event was held in Utica’s Brewery District. The course began in the back parking lot of the Saranac Brewery and finished a little over a block away at The Celtic Harp. A mid-run coffee and donut station was provided by Dippin’ Donuts. The after-party was held at The Celtic Harp. Non-runners were able to attend the after-party with a minimum contribution of $5. A total of 65 runners braved the bad weather and contributed over $4,600 to United Way of the Valley & Greater Utica Area. 
 
“We are extremely proud to be sponsoring and participating in such a worthy run and event,” said Chris Preble, Vice President, Permanent Placement Services for Central NY. “By organizing events like ‘United Way .5k’, United Way is proving that it is dedicated to making a powerful impact on the local community.”
 
Sponsors for this event were Robert Half of Syracuse, Saranac Brewery, Function Better Physical Therapy, Assured Information Security, Chobani, Copper City Hospitality & Entertainment, Nutrishop of New Hartford, Ward Arcuri Law Firm and T.C.
