IBEW Local 43 gives back – 15k donated to United Way

Members of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union Local 43 (IBEW) have tallied up their donations and presented a check in the amount of $15,000 to United Way of the Valley and Greater Utica Area.

This contribution to United Way’s annual fundraising campaign tops donations from IBEW Local 43 in recent years. President of IBEW Local 43 and United Way board member Patrick Costello identified a greater need seen across the socio-economic spectrum as the motivation behind increased donations.

“We are noticing growth in the number of local working families utilizing services provided by United Way funded programs,” said Patrick Costello. “IBEW decided it was necessary to increase our donation to reflect the growing need within our community.”
